Country Bookshelf

Country Bookshelf has been a Bozeman institution since 1957, growing into Montana's largest independent bookstore and one of the most respected in the Rocky Mountain West. The store's two-level space on Main Street is a treasure trove for readers, with the ground floor devoted to new fiction and nonfiction and the lower level housing an impressive rare books collection and an extensive selection of regional titles. The fly-fishing literature section is nationally renowned, attracting anglers heading to the Gallatin, Madison, and Yellowstone rivers who need a good read for the evening hatch. Montana State University's presence keeps the science section lively, while the Western history collection tells the stories of ranching, mining, and indigenous life that shaped the state.
